FiatMatch, Inc., (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “us”, “our”, “FiatMatch”, or “FiatMatch community”) takes priority in protecting and safeguarding the privacy and personal information of all data subjects (“users”, “you”, “customers” “clients”, or “FiatMatch community members”) who access or interact with us via our website, mobile application, email, social media events, non-social media events and other FiatMatch product offerings. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy to learn and understand how we collect, use, share, disclose, protect and remove your personal information and how you can manage your information in a manner that best suits you.

This Privacy Policy applies to all FiatMatch services, third-party solutions hosted by FiatMatch, applets, FiatMatch independently-operated web and mobile applications such as FiatMatch money transfer marketplace, airtime top-up, bill payment and gift cards, FiatVault Podcasts, FiatSuccess Events, FiatMatch Multi-Currency Card, FiatMatch Micro-Investing, and The Immigrant’s Library (collectively, “Services”).

By using FiatMatch services, you agree to read this Privacy Policy and consent to collecting, using, storing, processing and disclosing your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Minors
Individuals under the age of 18 are not allowed to use FiatMatch services. We do not collect, use, or process any personally identifiable information from children or minors under the age of 18. All personally identifiable information of children under 18 must not be submitted to us.

Information we may collect and process
We may collect and process non-personally identifying and personally identifying information when you sign up or subscribe to any of our services. Personal information may include your full name, date of birth, age, gender, contact address, email address, telephone number, nationality, occupation, country of residence, utility bills, bank account information, debit/credit card details, other financial information, and government identification documents (e.g., driver’s license, national identity cards, passport and other official government-issued documents). This information can be in various forms such as electronic, paper, audio, static or non-static biometric, such as photographs, video recordings, voiceprints, and signatures.

FiatMatch may obtain non-identifying information from your device such as your location, internet protocol (IP) address, type and model of your device, keystrokes, interaction and behaviour when using our services, operating system, browser version, time zone settings, and login credentials such as your username, email address, password, and other login credentials such as third-party IDs (e.g., Apple ID, Gmail and social media credentials when you choose to register to any of our services with such IDs)

We may also process other information that you provide to us when you agree to receive email notifications and SMS notifications or subscribe to our blog, newsletters, webinars, events, and podcasts.

We collect, process and save transactional information such as transaction history, currency exchanges initiated and/or requested, postings, offers accepted, transaction ID, buyer information, seller information, currency exchange value, chat history, timestamps, payment methods, and third-party information (e.g., beneficiary information such as beneficiary name, email address, phone number, beneficiary relationship, and the purpose of the transaction). When you provide us with third-party information, you consent to have authority and the beneficiary’s permission to provide us with their information to process, use, save, disclose or share, for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Personal information you share publicly
By using FiatMatch, you consent to share your FiatMatch public profile information (e.g., FiatMatch profile nickname, sign-up date, transaction volume, number of transactions completed, language preferences, currency preferences, community preferences rating, and trust rating. Some users may opt to share personally identifying information (e.g., videos, photographs) on their FiatMatch community. Electing to make your personally identifying information available publicly means that you withdraw all privacy rights you might normally have regarding such information.

Restricted Information Sharing
It is against FiatMatch community engagement rules to share your contact information (e.g., phone number, email address, or other social media contact information), in any form, with other members of our community or send money directly to other FiatMatch community members. FiatMatch reserves the right to block, remove, and restrict access to users who violate our community rules of not sharing contact information with other community members.

Why FiatMatch collects your information

We use your personal information to improve our services to you, protect you and us from fraud and criminal activities, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Other ways we may use your personal information and non-personal information include:

  • To verify your identity by processing sensitive identity information.

  • To process transactions and currency exchanges initiated, requested or offered by you.

  • To link your FiatMatch account to third-party solutions when requested by you or required by us to provide one or more services to you.

  • To ensure smooth communication between users within the FiatMatch community.

  • To communicate with you about your transactions and other non-financial services offered by FiatMatch, including providing customer support, marketing and non-marketing communications, advertisements about our services, or to send promotional offerings by FiatMatch or our partners.

  • To troubleshoot, analyze performance, fix errors, and improve the overall delivery of FiatMatch services to you.

  • To prevent, detect, investigate and report fraud, money laundering, illegal activity and any misuse of our services.

  • To comply with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing laws and regulations.

  • To recommend and personalize FiatMatch features and offerings that might be of interest to you.

Information we share with and collect from others

We engage with and utilize third-party solutions to enhance the delivery of our services to you, and we may collect or share your personal information with these third parties. Examples of such third parties include: 

  • KYC (know-your-customer), Sanctions, AML (Anti-Money- Laundering) Monitoring vendors, and in certain situations credit bureau, to establish your identity, facilitate user onboarding, fulfill our obligation to protect you and us from fraud, money laundering, and criminal activity, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations; 

  • Banks and payment providers to receive the money you transfer to us and disburse to your beneficiaries; 

  • Communication partners to communicate with you via email, SMS, telephone, our website, mobile application, social media and other telecommunication channels.

  • Regulatory agencies and law enforcement if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent criminal activity, physical harm or financial loss, and to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • FiatMatch may share comments and feedback submitted by users through our website, mobile applications, social media pages, events, and blogs with the public through any of our marketing communication channels.

  • Other third-party operators, vendors, business partners, and affiliates may also access and process your personal information. Examples of such third-parties include cloud storage companies, marketing and sales solution providers, CRM platforms, data analytics platforms, and professional service providers (e.g., lawyers, accountants, auditors, consultants, compliance partners, and research partners).

  • During events such as a merger, acquisition, consolidation, restructuring, or sale of some or all of our company assets, FiatMatch may transfer your personal information as a part of the transferred assets. 

How we store your Personal Information
All user personal information is securely stored, transferred, processed, and protected against unauthorized access within third-party servers in the United States.

How we secure your Personal Information
Our systems and security procedures are designed to ensure the safety of your personal information. To ensure unauthorized access to your account, we have established various encryption protocols (e.g., Secure Socket Layer encryption technology) and multi-layered identity verification processes in our systems including face-matching, one-time-passcodes (OTP), personal identification numbers (PINS), device and activity detection software, and we recommend using a unique password for your FiatMatch account which we ask that you take seriously.

The security of your personal information is our utmost priority. Nonetheless, no method of transmitting information or electronic storage of data over the internet is 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal information.

Access to your information
